The dishwasher is done
Recently, I’ve been watching lots of essays by Danny Gregory published on his YouTube channel, Sketchbook Skool. I’m a big fan of his work and the ideas he promotes in his books. One idea that really resonated with me is that you don’t have to travel to exotic places to find interesting subjects to sketch; rather, you should change your perspective and take a closer look at the ordinary objects and places that you probably pass by every day without noticing.

I remembered his advice today when I was about to do my daily sketch but couldn’t decide what to draw. It was after lunch, when the dishwasher had finished and I had just opened the door.
At first, I was overwhelmed by the chaos of shapes I was looking at, but I took it as a challenge. It was clear that I couldn’t draw every little detail, so I had to find a way of suggesting it with the least amount of lines.
